As of April 1, 2024, the number of recipients of social benefits due to job loss from the State Social Insurance Fund (hereinafter referred to as the SSIF) amounted to 122.6 thousand people, with 66.8 thousand citizens having the benefit specifically assigned within this year. The total amount of payments reached 18.3 billion tenge.

In accordance with current legislation, terminated employees receive social benefits for job loss ranging from 1 to 6 months, depending on their participation tenure in the compulsory social insurance system and income over the last 24 months. The payment is provided from the SSIF funds at a rate of up to 45% of the lost income.

To qualify for the benefit, terminated employees need to:

- Authenticate themselves on the eGov.kz portal;

- In the "Employment and Occupation" section, select the service "Registration of Job Seekers";

- Order the service online, fill in all fields, and submit the application, signing it with an EDS (Electronic Digital Signature);

- Within one day, the Career Center (hereinafter referred to as the CC) at the applicant's place of residence will offer job vacancies;

- If no employment opportunity is secured, the applicant will be designated as unemployed within 3 working days through remote assignment (if it is necessary, a CC employee will contact the applicant to gather additional information).

This service can also be obtained online through the Electronic Labor Exchange (enbek.kz).

If there is information about registration as unemployed, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population information system will send an SMS to the mobile phone for consent to provide the service of assigning payments from the SSIF in a proactive format. In case of agreement, it is necessary to respond to the SMS. The payment will be automatically assigned.

It is worth reminding that the social benefit for job loss from the SSIF is provided regardless of the reasons for dismissal and is intended to support unemployed individuals during their job search period.
