Since the beginning of the year, 211.3 thousand people have received state benefits, as well as payments from the State Social Insurance Fund (SSIF) for childbirth and childcare until the child reaches 1.5 years old, totaling 153.6 billion tenge.

Since the beginning of 2025, 62 thousand people have received childbirth benefits from the republican budget, amounting to 11.2 billion tenge,including in February, 28.3 thousand people received this benefit, totaling 5.1 billion tenge. This benefit is available to citizens permanently residing in Kazakhstan, as well as repatriates and foreigners who have children born, adopted, or taken into guardianship.

Individuals (families) with living biological children, adopted children, as well as children under guardianship, stepchildren (if they are not counted in the family of the other parent), are eligible to receive childcare benefits if the person providing care for the child is not a participant in the system of mandatory social insurance.During the reporting period, an average of 123,000 people received childcare benefits until the child reached 1.5 years old, totaling 7.2 billion tenge. In February, 123.1 thousand people received this type of benefit, amounting to 3.6 billion tenge.

The amounts of state benefits for childbirth and childcare are determined based on the monthly calculation index (hereinafter referred to as - MCI) approved for the corresponding financial year by the law on the republican budget. Since the beginning of 2025, the amounts of state benefits have been indexed by 6.5%.

The amounts of the childbirth allowance are as follows:

-For the first, second, and third child – 38 MCI or 149,416 tenge.

-For the fourth and subsequent children – 63 MCI or 247,716 tenge.

The childcare allowance until the child reaches 1.5 years old is paid monthly in the following amounts:

For the first child – 5.76 MCI or 22,648 tenge.

For the second child – 6.81 MCI or 26,777 tenge.

For the third child – 7.85 MCI or 30,866 tenge.

For the fourth and subsequent children – 8.90 MCI or 34,995 tenge.

In addition, working citizens receive a social benefit from the State Social Insurance Fund (SSIF) for all days of maternity leave due to pregnancy, childbirth, or adoption of a newborn child (children). The amount of the benefit depends on the average monthly income on which social insurance contributions were made to the SSIF during the last 12 months before the maternity leave and the number of days of incapacity for work.

Since the beginning of the year, 43.4 thousand people have received this one-time payment, totaling 61.1 billion tenge. In February, 20.5 thousand people received the payment, amounting to 27.8 billion tenge. The average amount of the assigned payment over the two months was 1,696,669 tenge.

Additionally, from the State Social Insurance Fund (SSIF), a monthly social benefit is assigned to participants of the mandatory social insurance system from the date of the child’s birth due to loss of income related to childcare until the child reaches 1.5 years old. The amount of the benefit is 40% of the average monthly income on which social insurance contributions were made to the SSIF during the last 2 years. In the case of the birth of two or more children, the benefit is assigned separately for each child.

In the first two months of 2025, this benefit was assigned to 44.9 thousand people, totaling 74.1 billion tenge. In February, 20.7 thousand recipients received the benefit, amounting to 36.9 billion tenge. The average monthly amount of the benefit over the two months was 93,193 tenge.
