As of October 1, 2023, the number of recipients of social payments in case of job loss from the State Social Insurance Fund (SSIF) amounted to 155.4 thousand people, while 146.3 thousand citizens were paid this year. The total amount of payments amounted to 33.2 billion tenge.

In accordance with the current legislation, dismissed employees receive social payments for job loss from 1 to 6 months, depending on the length of participation in the compulsory social insurance system and income for the last 24 months. The payment is made at the expense of SSIF in the amount of up to 45% of the lost income.

To assign a payment to a dismissed employee , it is necessary:

log in to the portal eGov.kz;

in the section "Employment and occupancy" select the service "Registration of job seekers";

order the service online by filling in all the fields, and send an application by signing it with EDS;

within one day, the career center (hereinafter referred to as the CC) at the applicant's place of residence will offer vacancies;

if the job is not found, the status of unemployed will be assigned remotely within 3 working days (if necessary, an employee of the CC will contact the applicant to collect additional information).

This online service can also be obtained through the Electronic Labor Exchange (enbek.kz ).

If there is information about registration as an unemployed person, the information system of MLSPP will send an SMS message to the mobile phone for consent to the provision of services for the purpose of payment from SSIF in a proactive format. If you agree, you must reply to the SMS message. The payout will be assigned automatically.

To remind, that the social payment in case of job loss at the expense of the SSIF is carried out regardless of the reasons for dismissal and is intended to support an unemployed person during the period when he is looking for a job.

In order to implement the order of the head of the state, announced in the Address to the People of Kazakhstan dated September 1, 2022, from January 1, 2023, the replacement rate of lost income has been increased from 40% to 45%. At the same time, the current procedure for assigning payments has been preserved and applies only to participants in the social insurance system who have lost their jobs and received the status of unemployed.

The increase in the amount of the social payment for job loss also affected the current recipients as of January 1, 2023, which was made automatically.

As previously reported, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan has launched a functionality for remote provision of services to employment centers through an Electronic labor Exchange.

This made it possible to simplify the procedures for registering the unemployed and obtaining state employment support services, including social payment for job loss. Now everything can be done with only the Internet, a computer and an electronic digital signature.
