As of April 1, 2025, the number of recipients of social payments due to the job loss from the State Social Insurance Fund (hereinafter referred to as the SSIF) amounted to more than 156 thousand people, while 83.9 thousand citizens were paid this year. The total amount of payments amounted to 30.2 billion tenge.

In accordance with current legislation, dismissed employees receive unemployment social payments from 1 to 6 months, depending on the length of service in the compulsory social insurance system and income for the last 24 months. The payment is made at the expense of the SSIF funds in the amount of up to 45% of the lost income.

To assign a payment to a dismissed employee, it is necessary:

log in to the portal eGov.kz;

- in the "Employment and occupancy" section, select the "Registration of job seekers" service;

- order the service online by filling in all the fields, and send an application by signing its EDS;

- within one day, the career center (hereinafter referred to as the CC) at the applicant's place of residence will offer vacancies;

- if a job is not found, the status of unemployed will be assigned remotely within 3 working days (if necessary, an employee of the CC will contact the applicant to collect additional information).

This online service can also be obtained through the Electronic Labor Exchange (enbek.kz ).

If there is information about registration as an unemployed person, the information system of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population will send an SMS message to a mobile phone for consent to the provision of services for the purpose of payment from the State Social Insurance Fund in a proactive format. If you agree, you must reply to an SMS message. The payment will be made automatically.

Just to remind that unemployment social payment in case of job loss at the expense of the SSIF are carried out regardless of the reasons for dismissal and are intended to support an unemployed person during the period when he is looking for a job.
