As of November 2 this year, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Social Insurance Fund have assigned benefits and payments to children from 17 families of miners, who died in a fire at the mine Kostenko.
21 of the 46 dead miners have dependents who have the right to receive the following types of social support.
The state social benefit for the loss of a breadwinner at the expense of the republican budget.
The amount of this benefit is determined based on the number of dependents of the deceased and their monthly amount ranges from 37,322 tenge (for 1 child) to 111,560 (for 5 children).
This type of benefit is also assigned to non-working mothers caring for a child under the age of 8.
Social payment in case of loss of the breadwinner at the expense of the State Social Insurance Fund (hereinafter – SSIF).
The amount of this payment is determined based on the income of the deceased and the length of his participation in the social insurance system. Payments range from 56 to 272 thousand tenge per month.
It should be noted that according to the current legislation, payments in case of loss of the breadwinner are paid until the children reach 18 years, and in the case of their full–time education in higher educational institutions - up to 23 years.
It should be noted that benefits and social payments are assigned on the basis of a death certificate. Work in this direction continues and is under the control of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, SSIF and NJSC "State Corporation" "Government for Citizens".
