About social payments from the SSIF
The State Social Insurance Fund (SSIF) provides an additional level of social protection for working citizens.
For the 2 months of 2025, over 780 thousand people received social payments in the amount of 169.8 billion tenge from the State Social Insurance Fund (SSIF),which is 15% more compared to the same period in 2024.
The social payment for the loss of work capacity from the SSIF is granted to participants of the compulsory social insurance system (hereinafter referred to as the "system") in addition to the state disability allowance funded by the state budget. Payments from the SSIF are made during the period of general work capacity loss ranging from 30% to 100%, as determined by the medical and social examination, regardless of whether the individual continues working.
In January-February, 2025, about 89.0 thousand participants of the system in the amount of 8.5 billion tenge received payment in case of disability from the SSIF, which is 10% more than in the same period of 2024. The monthly average amount of the assigned payment was 70,510 tenge.
The social payment in case of loss of a breadwinner from the SSIF is assigned to persons who were dependent on a participant in the system in addition to the state social payment for loss of a breadwinner, which is paid at the expense of the budget. Payment from the SSIF is made until the dependents reach the age of 18, and in the case of full-time education up to 23 years.
In the reporting period, the specified payment from the SSIF was received by 62.1 thousand families who lost a breadwinner in the amount of 6.3 billion tenge, which is 15% more compared to the same period in 2024. The monthly average amount of the assigned payment was 71,752 tenge.
A social payment in case of job loss from the SSIF is assigned to a participant in the system, regardless of the reason for his dismissal. The main condition for her appointment is his registration as an unemployed person. It is with registration that the participant acquires the right to receive a social payment. Depending on the length of participation in the system, the payment is made from 1 to 6 months. The amount of the payment depends on the average monthly income from which social contributions were made to the SSIF for the last 2 years before registering as unemployed and the length of participation in the system.
In January - February of 2025, the specified payment was made in the amount of 19.8 billion tenge, it was received by 134.8 thousand participants of the system, which is 27% more than the number of recipients for January - February 2024. The monthly average amount of the assigned payment is 83,171 tenge.
Social payment in case of loss of income due to pregnancy and childbirth, adoption of a newborn child (children) from the State Social Insurance Fund is assigned for all days of maternity leave.
The amount of the payment depends on the average monthly income from which social contributions were made to the SSIF in the last 12 months before the date of maternity leave and the number of days of disability.
For 2 months 2025, this one-time payment was received by 43.4 thousand expectant mothers for a total amount of 61.1 billion tenge, which is 3% more than the amount for the same period last year. The average amount of the assigned payment was 1,696,669 tenge.
A monthly social payment in case of loss of income in connection with the care of a child under one and a half years from the SSIF is assigned to a participant of the system from the date of birth of the child. The amount of the payment is 40% of the average monthly income from which social contributions were made to the SSIF over the past 2 years. If two or more children are born, the payment is assigned to each child separately.
In January-February 2025, this payment was assigned to 44.9 thousand people and the monthly average payment amount was 93,193 tenge. The payment was made in the amount of 74.1 billion tenge, which is 17% more than the amount for the same period in 2024.
Thus, the social protection of working citizens, due to the additional level of the compulsory social insurance system, is much higher in comparison with the non-working people.
