Since the beginning of the year, 246.7 thousand people have been covered by state benefits, as well as payments from the State Social Insurance Fund (hereinafter referred to as the SSIF) for the birth and care of a child up to the age of 1.5 years, totaling 221.8 billion tenge.

Since the beginning of 2025, 86.5 thousand people have received child support from the republican budget in the amount of 15.6 billion tenge, including 24.6 thousand people in the amount of 4.5 billion tenge in March. Citizens permanently residing in Kazakhstan, Candace, as well as foreigners who have children born, adopted, or taken into custody can apply for this benefit.

Persons (families) with children born alive, adopted, as well as children taken into custody, stepchildren (if they are not accounted in the family of another parent) are entitled to receive care benefits in cases where the person caring for the child is not a participant in the compulsory social insurance system. During the reporting period, 123 thousand people received an average of 10.8 billion tenge in child care benefits up to the age of 1.5 years, including 123 thousand people in the amount of 3.6 billion tenge in March.

The amount of state benefits for childbirth and child care is set depending on the monthly calculation index (hereinafter referred to as the MCI) approved for the relevant financial year by the law on the republican budget. Since the beginning of 2025, the amount of state benefits has been indexed by 6.5%.

The amount of child support is:

- for the first, second, and third child – 38 MCI or 149,416 tenge;

- for the fourth and more children – 63 MCI or 247 716 tenge.

The child care benefits until the child reaches the age of 1.5 years is paid monthly in the following amounts:

- for the first child – 5.76 MCI or 22,648 tenge;

- for the second child – 6.81 MCI or 26,777 tenge;

- for the third child – 7.85 MCI or 30,866 tenge;

- for the fourth and more children – 8.90 MCI or 34,995 tenge.

In addition, for all days of maternity leave, working citizens receive social payments from the State Social Insurance Fund for loss of income due to pregnancy and childbirth, adoption of a newborn child (children). The amount of the payment depends on the average monthly income from which social contributions were made in the last 12 months before the date of maternity leave and the number of days of disability.

Since the beginning of the year, 60 thousand people have received this one-time payment for a total amount of 85.1 billion tenge, including 18.1 thousand people for 24 billion tenge in March. The average amount of the assigned payment for 3 months was 1,668,261 tenge.

Also, from the SSIF, a participant in the social insurance system is assigned a monthly social payment in case of loss of income due to childcare for up to one and a half years old from the date of the child's birth. The amount of the payment is 40% of the average monthly income from which social contributions to the SSIF have been made over the past 2 years. If two or more children are born, the payment is assigned to each child separately.

For 3 months of 2025, this payment was assigned to 63.7 thousand people in the amount of 110.3 billion tenge, including in March the payment was assigned to 18.8 thousand in the amount of 36.2 billion tenge. The monthly average payout for 3 months was 92,522 tenge.
