As of June 1, 2021, the number of recipients of social benefits in case of unemployment from the State Social Insurance Fund (hereinafter - SSIF) amounted to 64.4 thousand people, while 39.9 thousand citizens were appointed a benefit for the first time this year.

In accordance with the current legislation, dismissed workers receive social benefits for the loss of work from 1 to 6 months, depending on the length of participation in the compulsory social insurance system and income for the last 24 months. The benefit is made at the expense of SSIF in the amount of up to 40% of the lost income.

In order to assign a payment to a dismissed employee, it is necessary:

- authorize in the portal eGov.kz;

- under " Job placement and employment" select the service "Registration of Job Seekers";

- order the service online by filling in all the fields and send the application by signing it with EDS;

- within one day, the Employment Center (hereinafter referred to as ETC) at the place of residence of the applicant will offer vacancies;

- if no job is found, the applicant will be remotely assigned the status of unemployed within 3 working days (if necessary, the applicant will be contacted by an employee of the EC to collect additional information).

If you have information about registration as unemployed, the MLSPР information system will send an SMS message to your cell phone to agree to the provision of the service for the assignment of benefit from the SSIF in a proactive format. If you agree, respond to the SMS-message. The benefit will be assigned automatically.

Please be reminded that the social payment in case of unemployment at the expense of SSIF is made regardless of the reasons for dismissal and is intended to support the unemployed person during the period when he is looking for a job.

As previously reported, to simplify registration procedures for the unemployed and facilitate the receipt of state employment support services, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the population of Kazakhstan has launched a remote service functionality of employment centers through the Electronic Labor Exchange (hereinafter - ELE).

In the "personal account" on ELE, Kazakhstani citizens can register as a job seeker or unemployed and track all stages of registration. After obtaining the status of the unemployed, citizens (participants of the social insurance system) can also send an application for a social payment for loss of work online on ELE and independently select vacancies for jobs subsidized by the state - youth practice, social jobs, public works. In order to receive the above services online it is necessary to register on ELE using the electronic digital signature.
