Since the beginning of 2024, 767 citizens have exercised their right to social payments from the State Social Insurance Fund (hereinafter referred to as the SSIF) through the Digital Family Card, having given their consent to this via SMS. Of these, 753 people received payments for job loss, and 14 received payments for childcare up to one and a half years old.

The Digital Family Card (hereinafter referred to as the DFC) serves as a daily "electronic notifier" for citizens about their rights to receive various types of guaranteed government support, depending on their social status.

Currently, the DFC allows Kazakhstan citizens who are participants in the social insurance system to apply for three types of social payments from the SSIF without any further applications: in case of disability, job loss, and loss of a breadwinner.

When the right to receive government support measures is established, the potential recipient receives an SMS notification from the unified contact center 1414. The citizen who receives the SMS must respond with consent. The application process and the granting of social payments will be carried out automatically, with the subsequent transfer of funds to the recipient's bank account.

The provision of services for the appointment of social payments in a proactive format is possible if the recipient's mobile phone number is registered in the mobile citizen database, which can be done through the egov.kz portal.

In 2023, with the help of the DFC, social payments from the SSIF were granted to 17,270 citizens.

Overall, last year, approximately 1.3 million Kazakhstan citizens received payments from the SSIF totaling 750.7 billion tenge.
