A symposium organized by the Bureau of the International Social Security Association (hereafter - ISSA) was held in Geneva on June 29-30, 2017, on the occasion of the celebration of ISSA's 90th anniversary.
Considering the historical partnership of the ISSA with the International Association of Pension and Social Funds (IAPSF) the President of JSC "State Social Insurance Fund" Diusenova Saule Sagintayevna took part in the Symposium on behalf of the IAPSF Chairman.
Created by 17 joint funds of mutual and health insurance societies under the auspices of the International Labor Organization in 1927, the ISSA has grown into a unique platform for 330 government departments and social security agencies from 158 countries to collaborate in promoting social security around the world.
To mark the 90th anniversary of the ISSA, the ISSA Governing Bodies, the ISSA Bureau held a Symposium in Geneva to explore the future of social security in the digital economy.
Social insurance is facing a series of serious global challenges that require coordinated and strategic responses at the international level. In particular, the transformations brought about by the digital economy have major implications for the future of welfare systems and governance.
The Symposium included a roundtable discussion with representatives of social service organizations.
Negotiations were held to exchange experiences on the organization of state social insurance in the social protection system of Uruguay and Poland.
State Social Insurance Fund President and IAPSF Chairman Saule Sagintayevna Dyusenova's statements during the event, which highlighted the ISSA's important role in promoting social insurance around the world, were praised by the ISSA Bureau members in a letter from Secretary General Hans Horst Konkolewsky.
