The State Social Insurance Fund (SSIF) constantly carries out extensive information and explanatory work to ensure and protect the social rights and interests of citizens of our country.

On April 13, 2018, SSIF specialists took part in a meeting with the population on the provision of targeted social assistance, organized by the Department of Employment and Social Protection of the city of Astana.

Since January 1, 2018, addressed social assistance (ASA) of a new format has been introduced in Kazakhstan. This assistance will be provided to families with an average per capita income below 50% of the subsistence minimum, subject to the mandatory participation of able-bodied family members in active measures to promote employment.

The ASA provides two types of assistance:

- Unconditional cash assistance: provided to those families that do not have able-bodied members (for example, families of disabled or elderly pensioners), or families whose able-bodied members for objective reasons cannot participate in employment promotion measures (for example, a single mother with children of preschool age). For such families, compulsory participation in employment measures to receive benefits is not required.

- Conditional cash assistance: provided to families with at least one able-bodied member, subject to the conclusion of a social contract and the mandatory participation of all able-bodied family members in employment promotion measures. A prerequisite for the appointment of ASA is the participation of all able-bodied family members in measures to promote employment and the conclusion of a social contract.

During the meeting, answers to questions of interest were presented.
