The State Social Insurance Fund (SSIF) provides additional support to working citizens. SSIF payments are in addition to government benefits from the budget, such as disability or survivor's benefits.
Social payments from the SSIF are received by those who officially worked and social contributions were paid for them. The amount of social benefits directly depends on the income from which the deductions were paid, as well as on the duration of their payment.
Social contributions are paid at the expense of the employer, and not from the income of employees.
The system of compulsory social insurance has become the most important and necessary element of the socio-economic relations of modern Kazakhstan. Its fundamental difference from other types of insurance is that it provides protection against material insecurity for working citizens and is built on the principle of social justice.
About social payments from the SSIF in case of disability, loss of a family breadwinner, loss of work, payments to women for pregnancy and childbirth when going on maternity leave, payments for caring for a child up to the age of 1 year, she spoke in the program “Basty takyryp” of the national television company “Kazakhstan” Managing Director of JSC "State Social Insurance Fund" Nursulu Kemel.
